From Andy - 2006 Completed Season

Guys,

I want to thank you for another enjoyable season. The season flew by which tells me that it was a good time and I hope you had the same. Thank you!!

[[View Standings & Handicaps]]

Congratulations to the flight winners of 2006:

Next week we will play the 1st of 2 9-hole rounds to determine the league champion. Please respond to me what time you expect to be at the course so John and myself can coordinate the foursomes. We will be playing the back.

Also, we will be posting groupings for year end at Hiland. There is a nice link on our site, www.aohgolf.com that shows the course and has all the tourney information.

Low rounds for the last regular season week (because many 1st timers BEGGED me…)

Again, thanks and we’ll see you in a few weeks,

Andy

Guys –

I am in receipt of the initial letter that went out from the City to all leagues.  The first meeting for all leagues is in mid-February of which I will be attending.  Many of the new policies will be detailed at this meeting.

However, I wanted to relay an item to you early so you are aware and can plan accordingly.  As mentioned last year, the City tried to force all leagues to pre-pay their dues for the season.  In other words, the city wanted 18 weeks of $13 greens fees up front.  As you will recall, this notion did not pass and the City reverted back to the old way of paying as you go.  Those days are now over.  The City is requiring ALL leagues to pre-pay all greens fees in 2 sums:  the 1st ½ is due to the City by April 14th and the 2nd ½ is due to them by June 9th.

What does this mean to all of us in the AOH?  Very simple, we will NEED to collect ½ of all greens fees up front and the 2nd ½ in time to pay the city the last amount.  If greens fees remain constant, that means every member not holding a season pass pay $117 up front.  And then pay another $117 later on.  When you go the course, you will not have to pay the greens fee at that time.  I believe each member will receive 18 vouchers to be redeemed when you play league nights.  If you miss a match or league night, you do not lose that play voucher.  Basically, you are guaranteed 18 play times by prepaying.  These greens fees are in addition to the $90 league fee that goes towards all league items/functions.  This prepay item does not apply to season pass holders.  If you plan on getting/renewing a season pass, please let me know so I can forward that info on to the City.

Again, as I get more information, I will pass it on.  Should you feel you can not or don’t want to abide by these new policies, please let me know.  I understand some of the issues that would prevent you from continuing with the league and the more time I have to make plans, the better off we will be.  All in all, this should be no surprise to anyone as it was discussed at length last year amongst our league.

Certainly any feedback you would like to share with me is appreciated.  I will take all concerns and comments with me to the meeting in February.  Thanks.

 Andy

An End of Season Note from the AOHGOLF.COM Webmaster

Gentlemen,

It's been a pleasure keeping this site rolling for you for the last two years. Every week I wait in anticipation to see who shot low rounds, I look forward to the tournament photos so I can put faces with names, and I look forward to seeing who brings it home at the end. (I have to admit I'm a sucker for underdogs so I love seeing a new name up on the weekly low-round list.)

Thank you for letting me continue to do this site for you. In the Corporate world I live in way too often, it's fun for me to get on here and play along for a little while. If you have suggestions for the web site, please do not hesitate to shoot me an e-mail.

Good luck to the guys in the final round, and hopefully I'll get to meet some of you at the year-end tournament at Hiland. I'm looking forward to that too.
